1. the mutual rivalry for piling up of worldly things diverts you,
2. until You visit the graves (i.e. till You die).
3. Nay! You shall come to know!
4. again, Nay! You shall come to know!
5. Nay! if You knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, You would not have occupied yourselves In worldly things)
6. Verily, You shall see the blazing Fire (Hell)!
7. and again, You shall see it with certainty of sight!
8. then, on that day, You shall be asked about the delight (you indulged in, In This world)!
At Takaatsur letter consists of eight verses, one of those letters Makkiyyah, revealed after the letter of Al Kautsar. Named At Takaatsur (boast-splendor) At Takaatsur taken from the words contained in the first paragraph of this letter.
Principles of contents :
Human desire to boast, in the matter of worldly splendor, often neglect the human of her destiny. He realized his error after the death came to him; man in the Hereafter will be asked about the blessings in the afterlife. This letter expressed disapproval and threats against those who boast-splendor with what he earned and not spend it in Allah's way. They must be punished and would have asked about it.
