There's a difference between who we love, who we settle for, and who we're meant for.

There are huge differences between who you have settled for, who you are meant for, and who we love, this is a complicated but almost undeniable truth. Whether you choose to believe that a person in your life because they were meant for you, or because you just settled, we are all forced to answer the question of if the love that we have for a person is real or not at some point in time.

All is not fair in love, but all should be. If someone truly loves us we must be willing to let them know if we really love them, or if we think that we may just be settling for them because they have us feeling secure, or comfortable, everything but happy. It is not always easy to be honest about your feelings because it may hurt someone else's, but never live a life that you know isn't really yours to live. Never settle, love and love with all of you, that is what love is meant for!

Having The Satisfaction Of Knowing

Knowing is a 2009 American-British science fiction film mystery-thriller directed by Alex Proyas and starring Nicolas Cage. The project was originally attached to a number of directors under Columbia Pictures, but it was placed in turnaround and eventually picked up by Escape Artists. Production was financially backed by Summit Entertainment. Knowing was filmed in Docklands Studios Melbourne, Australia, using various locations to represent the film's Boston-area setting. The film was released on 20 March 2009, in the United States. The DVD and Blu-ray media were released on July 7, 2009.

In 1959 a child, Lucinda Embry, hears whispers as she stares at the sun. Later, she writes a page of seemingly random numbers to include in the school's time capsule, which will be opened after 50 years. When unable to complete this series of digits, she hides in the janitor's closet and is later found there by a teacher, scratching the remaining numbers into the door.

Fifty years later, Caleb Koestler is a student at Lucinda's school. When the time capsule is opened, Caleb gets Lucinda's page of numbers. Jonathan Koestler, (played by Nick Cage) Caleb's widower father, is a professor of astrophysics at MIT.

Hearing whispers, Caleb sees a mysterious stranger outside. Looking at the numbers, Jonathan notices the sequence 911012996 and realizes it is a reference to the date and number of deaths from the September 11th attacks (9/11/01/2996). Jonathan finds similar information based on other numbers on Caleb's sheet. The last three dates on the page are in the near future, and there are sequences between the dates which he cannot understand.

Caleb receives more visits from mysterious strangers who give him a small smooth stone, and show him visions of the world on fire. On his way to pick up Caleb from school, Jonathan notices the coordinates on his GPS, realizing that the numbers on the screen match those on Lucinda's list. His fears are realized moments later when a passenger jet crashes within view of the highway. He now understands that Lucinda's numbers pinpoint the time and place of disasters.

Jonathan tracks down Lucinda's daughter, Diana, and her daughter Abby, but scares them away when he reveals his interest in Lucinda's predictions. Jonathan pinpoints the next disaster to Worth Street in lower Manhattan. Guessing that it will be a terrorist attack and hoping to prevent the disaster, he phones in a terror warning. Traveling to New York, he is shocked to find the area has not been not closed off. He pursues a man into a subway station suspecting him to be a terrorist, but he is only a shoplifter. At that same moment an approaching train derails, smashing into the station and destroys much of the train Jonathan is on.

With the train disaster proving Jonathan's predictions, Diana decides to help Jonathan. She says that her mother used to hear voices, and that the next date, October 19, is the day she said she would die. In Lucinda's mobile home, they find pictures of the disasters she predicted, a copy of Matthäus Merian's engraving of Ezekiel's "chariot vision",[4] and a pile of small smooth stones near Lucinda's bed.

The last number appears to be "33" but is really "EE" written backwards. Jonathan and Diana soon learn that EE means "Everyone Else", representing a cataclysm that no one will escape. Outside, the Strangers appear around the car carrying the children. John drives them away only to hear from Abby that the "whisper people" want her and Caleb to go with them. The next day, John has a sudden revelation and rushes them to the MIT observatory, where he discovers that a massive solar flare will soon reach Earth.

Diana wants to hide in some caves. John agrees at first, but then returns to Lucinda's school for the numbers on the old door, thinking they may be coordinates leading to safety. Before he finds them Diana takes the children and heads for the caves. As Jonathan drives after them, he calls Diana and tries to persuade her against relying on the caves. He warns her that the solar flare will penetrate miles under ground.

While stopped for gas, Diana loses the children to the Strangers. Diana pursues them but is broadsided by a truck. John arrives just as Diana dies, finding the small stone in Diana's hand. He continues to Lucinda's mobile home, finding the children and the Strangers in a dry river bed covered with the stones. A vessel similar to the wheels in the engraving descends from the sky. John is refused entry but allows his son to leave as the Strangers dissolve into translucent alien figures resembling angels. The vessel departs with the children and a pair of rabbits, and a distant shot shows many similar vessels leaving earth.

The next morning the skies are full of smoke and heat. John makes it to the chaotic streets of New York City, arriving at his father's home. They embrace as the solar flare burns away the atmosphere and incinerates everything on the surface of the Earth and even below that. The film ends as Caleb and Abby arrive at an otherworldly valley, then run across a field of golden grass towards a large, white tree.

Upon Her Return

There was a young man in Damascus who planned to leave his country to study. His mother was very caring and supportive of him. She raised him alone through toil and hardship. And, at last, she felt that after all the hard work--she was proud of her son as any mother would.

"Ah! The joys of motherhood!" she said to hersel...f. The pleasure of staring at this little man, who once held onto her dress begging to be carried and to be tightly clenched by her arms. She recalled the days when he was small and helpless, and yet there he was--embarking on a journey to be the man he was raised to be.

The young man's flight was scheduled to leave early in the morning, thus his mother prepared food and all that was needed for this long trip. Her acts of kindness and loyalty displayed his mother endearing love for him. His excitement as a young man, and her hopefulness as a proud mother, is something we can all relate to.

That morning, she heard over the news that there was a storm headed their way. Out of fear that her son might die on this journey, she decided not to wake him. Instead she left early for the market hoping to surprise him with his favorite food later that morning.

Upon her return, she called out his name in anticipation and excitement--for she had a few more days with him before he would continue on with this journey. But to no avail, there was no response from him. Allah had taken his soul away and he died in his sleep that morning. Story obtained from Al Qaseem Newspaper.

As you are my better half, always try to be better In sha Allah, that will give me the impression that you are the best husband in the world. Don’t blame me for my small mistakes. Forget them and forgive me. If you see any mistakes in me, please don’t point out them in front others. Make me recognize them with kind words.

Don’t describe about other ladies with me, because that might make me envy. Compliment me if I do anything that pleases you. If I want to talk to you please listen them carefully. That will give me an impression that you are there to care for me.

Some times I might lost my patience and I might turn wild, at that times kindly make me to recognize that I was wrong. If I demand you for little things, try to fulfill them if you can. If you can’t, explain me kindly. In sha Allah I will understand.

Understand me when no one does. That will give me hope in life. At least spend some hours to know how I feel.

In short be a mother when I’m sick.

Be father when I’m in need.

Be a brother when I want to share.

Be a best friend when I want to talk.

Hold my hands and take me in the path of Jannah! In sha Allah!

Music in Islam

What is your opinion of Music in Islam?

I personally don't think that Music is forbidden, if its contents are pure and get you closer to Allah. Whats forbidden is evil music with bad message and propaganda. If the kind of music make you neglect your duties towards Allah and your self and family or society, then it is better to stay away from that. If the contents encourage you to commit haram (Forbidden/Not Allowed actions), or those lyrics glorifies haram actions then dont listen that.

The below verse is commonly quoted and misinterpreted to say that music is haram. There is no verse in the Qur'an that prohibits music.

And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah without knowledge, and takes it by way of mockery. For such there will be a humiliating torment. [Qur'an 31:6]

This verse, specifically the words "Idle Talks" do not refer to music, it refers to ignorance and mockery from ignorant people who gossip and pride themselves without knowing anything.

Berlakunya Sunnah Allah

Sesungguhnya Allah menahan langit dan bumi supaya jangan lenyap; dan sungguh jika keduanya akan lenyap tidak ada seorangpun yang dapat menahan keduanya selain Allah. Sesungguhnya Dia adalah Maha Penyantun lagi Maha Pengampun.

Dan mereka bersumpah dengan nama Allah dengan sekuat-kuat sumpah; sesungguhnya jika datang kepada mereka seorang pemberi peringatan, niscaya mereka akan lebih mendapat petunjuk dari salah satu umat-umat yang lain. Tatkala datang kepada mereka pemberi peringatan, maka kedatangannya itu tidak menambah kepada mereka, kecuali jauhnya mereka dari kebenaran,

karena kesombongan mereka di muka bumi dan karena rencana mereka yang jahat. Rencana yang jahat itu tidak akan menimpa selain orang yang merencanakannya sendiri. Tiadalah yang mereka nanti-nantikan melainkan berlakunya sunnah Allah yang telah berlaku kepada orang-orang yang terdahulu. Maka sekali-kali kamu tidak akan mendapat penggantian bagi sunnah Allah, dan sekali-kali tidak pula akan menemui penyimpangan bagi sunnah Allah itu. 

Dan apakah mereka tidak berjalan di muka bumi, lalu melihat bagaimana kesudahan orang-orang yang sebelum mereka, sedangkan orang-orang itu adalah lebih besar kekuatannya dari mereka? Dan tiada sesuatupun yang dapat melemahkan Allah baik di langit maupun di bumi. Sesungguhnya Allah Maha Mengetahui lagi Maha Kuasa.

Dan kalau sekiranya Allah menyiksa manusia disebabkan usahanya, niscaya Dia tidak akan meninggalkan di atas permukaan bumi suatu mahluk yang melatapun akan tetapi Allah menangguhkan penyiksaan mereka, sampai waktu yang tertentu; maka apabila datang ajal mereka, maka sesungguhnya Allah adalah Maha Melihat keadaan hamba-hamba-Nya

Assalamu alaikum (السلام عليكم as-salāmu `alaykum) merupakan salam dalam Bahasa Arab, dan digunakan oleh kultur Muslim. Salam ini adalah Sunnah Nabi Muhammad SAW, yang dapat merekatkan Ukhuwah Islamiyah umat Muslim di seluruh dunia. Untuk yang mengucapkan salam, hukumnya adalah Sunnah. Sedangkan bagi yang mendengarnya, wajib untuk menjawabnya.

Salam ini juga digunakan oleh kultur Kristen di Timur Tengah yang mempunyai arti kedamaian dan kesejahteraan bagi yang mengucapkan salam dan penerima salam tersebut. Salam ini sama dengan salam shalom aleichem dalam bahasa Ibrani.

Allah SWT berfirman dalam Surat Al-Hasyr Ayat 23: Dialah Allah, tidak ada ilaah (sesembahan) yang layak kecuali Dia, Maha Raja diraja, yang Maha Suci, Maha Sejahtera, Maha Mengaruniai rasa aman, Maha Memelihara, Maha Perkasa, Maha Kuasa, Maha Memiliki segala keagungan. Maha Suci Allah dari segala yang mereka persekutukan.

Di dalam ayat ini, As-Salaam (Maha Sejahtera) adalah satu dari Nama-nama Agung Allah SWT. Kini, Kita akan mencoba untuk memahami arti, keutamaan dan penggunaan kata Salam.

Sebelum terbitnya fajar Islam, orang Arab biasa menggunakan ungkapan-ungkapan yang lain, seperti Hayakallah yang artinya semoga Allah menjagamu tetap hidup, kemudian Islam memperkenalkan ungkapan Assalamu ‘alaikum. Artinya, semoga kamu terselamatkan dari segala duka, kesulitan dan nestapa. Ibnu Al-Arabi di dalam kitabnya Al-Ahkamul Qur’an mengatakan bahwa Salam adalah salah satu ciri-ciri Allah SWT dan berarti "Semoga Allah menjadi Pelindungmu".

Salam berarti :  Mengingat (dzikr) Allah SWT,  Pengingat diri,  Ungkapan kasih sayang antar sesama Muslim,
Doa yang istimewa, dan Pernyataan atau pemberitahuan bahwa ‘anda aman dari bahaya tangan dan lidahku’

Makna Salam 

Salam bukan sekedar ungkapan kasih-sayang, tetapi memberikan juga alasan dan logika kasih-sayang yang di wujudkan dalam bentuk doa pengharapan agar anda selamat dari segala macam duka-derita. Tidak seperti kebiasaan orang Arab yang mendoakan untuk tetap hidup, tetapi Salam mendoakan agar hidup dengan penuh kebaikan.

Salam mengingatkan kita bahwa kita semua bergantung kepada Allah SWT. Tak satupun makhluk yang bisa mencelakai atau memberikan manfaat kepada siapapun juga tanpa perkenan Allah SWT.

Perhatikanlah bahwa ketika seseorang mengatakan kepada anda, "Aku berdoa semoga kamu sejahtera." Maka ia menyatakan dan berjanji bahwa anda aman dari tangan perlakuan-nya, lidah lisan-nya, dan ia akan menghormati hak hidup, kehormatan, dan harga-diri anda.

Marriage in Islam

In Islam, marriage is a blessed contract between a man and a woman, in which each becomes “permitted” to the other, and they begin the long journey of life in a spirit of love, co-operation, harmony and tolerance, where each feels at ease with the other, and finds tranquility, contentment and comfort in the company of the other. The Qur’an has described this relationship between men and women, which brings love, harmony, trust and compassion, in the most moving and eloquent terms:

And among His Signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that you may dwell in tranquility with them, and He has put love and mercy between your hearts (Qur’an 30:21)

This is the strongest of bonds, in which Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) unites the two Muslim partners, who come together on the basis of love, understanding, co-operation and mutual advice, and establish a Muslim family in which children will live and grow up, and they will develop the good character and behavior taught by Islam. The Muslim family is the strongest component of a Muslim society when its members are productive and constructive, helping and encouraging one another to be good and righteous, and competing with one another in good works.

The righteous woman is the pillar, cornerstone and foundation of the Muslim family. She is seen as the greatest joy in a man’s life, as the Prophet (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“This world is just temporary conveniences, and the best comfort in this world is a righteous women.”1

A righteous woman is the greatest blessing that Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) can give to a man, for with her he can find comfort and rest after the exhausting struggle of earning a living. With his wife, he can find incomparable tranquility and pleasure.

The word "blessed" has been interpreted in so many ways by so many people, but what interests me most in it is that it has had such a profound impact on my life and ministry. There are people who believe that the word "blessed" is as cheap and easy as it sounds. Well, to be blessed is to be rewarded for a good job. I said so because, nothing just happens.! There is always a reason for everything.

God commanded that only those who sow seeds will have a harvest. God is not permitted to bring increase blessing until a man has committed himself to sowing seeds. If there is to be a harvest blessing, there must be seed sown. The life of a thorn is deliberately set to frustrate all efforts of fruitfulness on any ground to which it is granted access. It achieves this by choking the plant, thus cutting off all necessary supplies from reaching it.

What God finds on your heart determines your fate - whether you are qualified for the blessing or not, The Lord is always looking for men - Firebrands, who will bow themselves in humility before Him - people who are not ignorant of the thorns among men. God is looking for people who know what thorns know and prepare to fight back. Thorns know that in the battle to affect a life, the heart is the most important part. They know that once they get the heart, they shall automatically rule the heads, hands, feet, and every other part.

It is certain now that before a covenant of great multiplication and exceeding greatness is seen in the life of any man, the man must walk before the Lord blameless. Walking before the Lord blameless is a guarantee for a blessed life, and when the Lord has blessed you, no man shall have power to curse you.

Shalat Tahajud : صلاة التهجد‎

Shalat tahajjud : صلاة التهجد‎ adalah salat sunnat yang dikerjakan di malam hari lebih utama dilaksanakan setelah terjaga dari tidur. Ulama memiliki pendapat yang berbeda tentang apakah tidur pertama adalah benar-benar diperlukan atau tidak. Waktu untuk shalat Tahajjud adalah diantara waktu isha'a dan waktu subuh atau pada sepertiga terakhir malam (QS Al Muzammil : 2-3) yang dikerjakan sedikitnya dua rakaat dan paling banyak tidak terbatas.

Salat tahajjud termasuk sholat sunnah mu'akad (shalat yang dikuatkan oleh syara') yang memiliki keistimewaan dimana bagi orang yang mendirikan salat tahajjud diberikan manfaat, yaitu keselamatan dan kesenangan di dunia dan akhirat, dan diangkat ke tempat yang terpuji, sebagaimana dijelaskan dalam Alquran Surah Al Al Israa' : 79 :

وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَتَهَجَّدْ بِهِ نَافِلَةً لَكَ عَسَى أَنْ يَبْعَثَكَ رَبُّكَ مَقَامًا مَحْمُودًا (٧٩

"dan pada sebahagian malam hari bersembahyang tahajudlah kamu sebagai suatu ibadah tambahan bagimu; Mudah-mudahan Tuhan-mu mengangkat kamu ke tempat yang Terpuji."

Tahajud merupakan salah satu shalat sunnah yang memiliki nilai dan atau manfaat tinggi. disamping dapat meneguhkan iman juga untuk mengasah mental kita untuk menghadapi masalah hidup duniawi, serta sarana paling ampuh untuk lebih mendekatkan diri kepada Allah swt.

Diantara sekian banyak hikmah dan fadilah nya, senantiasa melaksanakan Shalat Tahajjud juga merupakan salah satu syarat dan ciri ciri orang yang bertaqwa sebagaimana dijelaskan dalam Al quran surah Adz Dzaariyaat : 15 - 18

إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ (١٥)آخِذِينَ مَا آتَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ مُحْسِنِينَ (١٦)كَانُوا قَلِيلا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ (١٧)وَبِالأسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ (١٨

15. Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang bertaqwa itu berada dalam taman-taman (syurga) dan mata air-mata air,

16. sambil menerima segala pemberian Rabb mereka. Sesungguhnya mereka sebelum itu di dunia adalah orang-orang yang berbuat kebaikan.

17. di dunia mereka sedikit sekali tidur diwaktu malam.

18. dan selalu memohonkan ampunan diwaktu pagi sebelum fajar.

Tata cara melaksanakan shalat Tahajjud adalah sama seperti halnya shalat sunnah pada umumnya, akan tetapi sebagian ulama berpendapat bahwa shalat Tahajjud lebih utama dengan menambahkan dan atau membaca surat al kafirun pada raka'at pertama dan rakaat ke dua membaca surat al Ikhlas.

Serta memperbanyak membaca istighfar dan atau berdzikir setelah shalat.

Adapun manfaat shalat Tahajjud bagi orang yang mau mengerjakannya adalah sebagai berikut :

Manfaat yang pertama

Akan menjadikan pelakunya memiliki sifat rendah hati. Sebagaimana firman Allah SWT yang artinya :

“Dan hamba-hamba Tuhan yang Maha Penyayang itu adalah orang-orang yang berjalan diatas bumi dengan rendah hati dan apabila orang-orang jahil menyapa mereka, mereka mengucapkan kata-kata yang baik.Dan orang yang melalui malam hari dengan sujud dan berdiri untuk Tuhan mereka”

Manfaat yang kedua

Akan menjadikan pelakunya sebagai orang yang selalu mensyukuri nikmat Allah SWT. Sebagaimana yang telah diterangkan didalam hadist Nabi SAW, yang artinya : “Sungguh Rasulullah SAW berdiri dan shalat hingga kedua telapak kakinya atau kedua betisnya bengkak, maka jawabnya : “Bukankah aku ini seorang hamba yang banyak bersyukur”. (HR. Jam’ah kecuali Imam Abu Daud, yang bersumber dari Al Mughirah bin Syu’bah R.A)

Manfaat yang ketiga

Dapat melepaskan sipul godaan syaitan (mengusir syaitan) serta menjadikan badan segar dan penuh semangat. Sebagaimana sabda Nabi SAW yang artinya : “Pada waktu seseorang tidur, syaitan membuat tiga buah simpul dikepalanya. Untuk setiap ia mengatakan : “tidurlah engkau sepanjang malam, bila ia terbangun, lalu menyebut nama Allah, maka lepaslah satu simpul, Jika ia berwudhu, maka lepaslah satu simpul lagi; dan jika ia shalat, maka terbukalah seluruh simpul.Pada waktu bangun lagi,ia akan merasa penuh semangat dengan badan yang segar. Jika tidak,i a akan bangun pagi dengan perasaan serba tak enak dan malas.”(HR.Imam Bukhari, dari shahabat Abu Hurairah r.a)

At the Day that their faces will be turned upside down In the fire, They will say: "Woe to us! would that we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger." and They would say: "Our Lord! we obeyed Our Chiefs and Our great ones, and They misled us As to the right path. "Our Lord! give them double penalty and curse them with a very great Curse!"
